Dambulla
Dambulu Vihara, also known as the Dambulla Cave Temple or the Golden Temple of Dambulla, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in the Central Province of Sri Lanka. This ancient Buddhist temple complex dates back to the 1st century BC and is renowned for its well-preserved caves that house a vast collection of Buddha statues, frescoes, and religious artifacts. The temple is situated on a 160-meter-high rock, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. The complex consists of five main caves, each filled with stunning murals depicting scenes from the life of Buddha, and over 150 statues, including a 15-meter-long reclining Buddha. Dambulu Vihara is one of the most important pilgrimage sites in Sri Lanka, attracting visitors with its spiritual ambiance and historical significance.
